Kailash Pilgrimage Tour provides the opportunity to make the “ultimate pilgrimage journey” to the holy Mt. Kailash and the Lake Manasarovar. Commencing from Kathmandu in Nepal the Kailash Pilgrimage tour is inclusive of an overland journey to the sacred Manasarovar Lake and Mount Kailash. Camping by the ethereal waters of the holy lake Manasarovar with a three -day Kora (journey) around Mt. Kailash is a special and very spiritual journey in a holy and beautiful land of Tibet.

Kailash pilgrimage tour includes rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping through the remote regions of Western Tibet, at the altitudes of 2,745m/ 9,000ft and 4,880m/16,000ft, hiking to a maximum of 5600m/18,400ft. The Nature Trails team with Sherpa, a cook and a guide are on hand. All camping equipment is provided. Clients carry a small daypack and the pace is easy. Equipment and luggage is carried by the porters and pack-animals.

Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Nyalam 3750 m (150 km)

Day 10: Drive to Dongba (366 km) 7-8 hr
Day 11: Drive Dongba to Nyalam (376 km) 7-8 hr
Day 12: Drive Nyalam to Kathmandu (156 km) 6-7 hr

Needed Things:

Down jacket, slepping bags, drinks, expense of personal natural like tips, photography charge, and any type of travelling & medical insurance. Emergency evacuation cost, extra charge for hiring extra horse, yaks &porters during kora,extra charge for hiring porter &extra transportation incase of natural calamities like & slide, flood snow fall which is beyond our control & Nepal re-entry visa fee.

INFORMATION & HEALTH PRECAUTION
Level of oxygen is lesser at higher altitude in compare to sea level. The inclement weather & high altitude induces certain illness generally not encountered over the plans, like headache, nausea, lassitude, lethargy, breathelessness, and general uneasiness (malaise) high irritability. Loss of balance, disorientation, incoherence &insomnia are a few. The best idea is deliberately slow down all the activities & follows the following rules:-

Take rest
Relax-do not exert, don't be excited.
Reduce Talking.
Walk slowly-adopt one third of your normal speed &space keep your load light.
Whenever you fell uncomferttable, just stop rest & relax.
Ignore the sudden outbursts of fellow pilgrims & avoid arguments.
Observe silence with smile' never go too high too fast.
Avoid smoking, alcohols, drugs & intoxicants.
Consume plenty of liquids, never
Proceed with & empty stomach.
Listening to your favorite music, bhajans, chanting etc will be the great idea while trekking.
Be careful not to catch the cold. Always listen your guide or the one with experience. Never leave the Group.
Route and climatic conditions
The road from Kathmandu to Kodari (Nepal and china border) is quite narrow but black topped and the last 25 km before Nepal Tibet before is bit adventure in the sense that most of its part is bumpy and dusty with lots of landslide areas. The other side of the border (i.e. in Tibet) till NYALAM is the same mountainous road with so many twist and turns. The terrain in the high Tibetan plateau is also not in a good condition with lots of bumps, dusts and some part of the road is graveled but most of its terrain is made by vehicles. Tibet is cold, dry, windy and dusty .Night is even colder than the day. Heavy rain and strong icy winds are common feature during monsoon in High Mountain. Flooding rivers and landslides are frequent. The average elevation of the Tibetan plateau is around 4000 meters.

Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Nyalam 3750 m (150 km)
After early breakfast we drive through Bhaktapur, Dhulikhel and reach Friendship Bridge (i.e. Nepal-China border). From here we walk for about 10 minutes to cross Friendship Bridge and meet our Tibetan guide and landcruiser drivers. After all the immigration and custom formalities at the Chinese check post here, our journey continues for another 35 km which can take almost 3 hours through the up-winding road to Nyalam with beautiful scenery. Then, you will be transferred to the guest house in Nyalam (3700m). The facilities of the guesthouse are very simple and basic. We stay free and spend overnight here.

Day 02: Nyalam – day free for acclimatization
Today is free for acclimatization. We will be going for short trek which is in preparation for Kailash Parikrama and it helps us to acclimatize fast. Overnight stay at guest house. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 03: Nyalam – Saga 4450 m (240 km) (passing through Lalung-La 5050m) (6-7 hr)
Early breakfast and drive to Saga. First long drive over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, other things like lake, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep keeping you busy. Today you will be passing through the first highest pass Lalung-La 5050m. Stop and stay for about 10 minutes at Lalung-La and experience how you feel at an altitude of 5050 m. You can see the superb view of Gaurishankar, Shishapangma to Langtang Himal. Continue drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and Peigutso Lake (4400m). We will be crossing River Brahmaputra (Tibetan name “Yarling Tsangpo”) to reach Saga (4640m). Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 04:Saga – Paryang 4600 m (185 km)
After breakfast drive to Paryang. Passing through many villages and camps of yak herders. Far south you can see snow-capped mountain peaks. Most of the time you will be driving on plains, hence a comfortable drive. Arrive in Paryang and enjoy hot tea. Overnight stay at guest house. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 05: Paryang – Mansarovar 4558 m (277 km)
Early breakfast and get ready for longest driving day. Late afternoon you can have first view of Holy Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Hore – a small village is situated near Holy Mansarovar Lake. Holy Mansarovar (14950 ft/4558m) – the highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world is full of fishes and swans. Holy Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandala, Lake Rakshash are lying on its surrounding. The region is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creatures. Night will be spending at Chui Gompa. Meals included:

Day 06:Mansarovar – Tarchen (40 km)

Holy Mansarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss.
After completing the memorable morning bath and puja we will be heading for Holy Mansarovar Parikrama by landcruiser with packed lunch and continue drive towards Tarchen (Darchen). If time permits, we visit Chui Gompa. Tarchen is considered as a base camp for Holy Kailash Parikrama. During the auspicious pilgrimage time, this place will be flooded with pilgrims with hundreds of tents all around. Meals included:

Day 07: Tarchen – Tarboche (13 km drive) – Dirapuk (4860 m.) (7 km trek / 5 – 6 hr)
After breakfast drive to Tarboche – starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Tarboche is also known as outer “Asthapath”. It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs; waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky make you feeling that Great God Shiva is every where with tons of blessing to you. Time to time the face of Kailash Parbat will be kept on appearing. For 7 km trail it takes almost 7 hrs. Meals included:

Day 08:Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk (4760 m) (18 km trek / 9-10 km) (passing through Dolma-la pass 5,200 m)

Today you will be climbing to Drolma-la (Dolma-La 18600 ft) and than descending gradually to Zuthulpuk (4760m). Yamasthal should be crossed to reach the Shiva-sthal while your steps go closer to the pass.Today is the most difficult day of the trek. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget in eternity. Once your steps go down, Parvati-stal and Gauri Kunda are on the way. By late afternoon you will arrive in Zuthulpuk (the cave of Miracles, the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have preformed miracles here). Meals included:

Day 09: Zuthulpuk – Tarchen (Darchen) (10 km / 4-5 hr) – Mansarovar (end of Kailash Parikrama)
Morning free time to explore the caves, temples and shrine around Milarepa cave. After walking 3 hours, all the driving crew will be waiting for your arrival. By late afternoon you will be at your lodge/camp near Mansarovar Lake. Meals included:

Day 10: Drive to Dongba (366 km).

7-8 hrs.Meals included: Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 11:Drive Dongba to Nyalam (376 km) 7-8 hr
Meals included: Breakfast, . Overnight at Guesthouse

Day 12: Drive Nyalam to Kathmandu

(156 km) 6-7 hr
we cross the border and back to Kathmandu via Kodari Highway, Meals included: Breakfast, Overnight at Hotel.
