This Trek is awesome, there are no words that can describe the immense, powerful awe that these mountains inspire. If you are reasonably fit, I highly recommend this Trek. If you are not sure about how your body will respond to the altitude, it is probably best to opt for a longer EBC trek (12-14 days instead of 10). My guide, Basu, was awesome and super accommodating, he took care of all of the logistic aspects, which made the trip stress-free for me. I highly recommend this trek and Basu as a guide.
I recommend that you schedule at least 3-5 buffer days in Kathmandu after your trek before you fly out of Nepal. The weather to get out of the mountains is unpredictable, and it is normal to take days beyond what you planned to get a flight back to Kathmandu.
Exciting Nepal Treks and Expedition is a great company. The bottom line is that if I do a Trek in the region again, I will definitely be booking through this company. They are super accommodating and genuinely care about your experience. They answered every question I had before the trek in a timely manner. They took care of everything for me, so basically, all I had to do was show up, trek, and enjoy myself. Subash (the CEO) is very considerate and very easy to work with.
My guide, Basu, made the trip even better. He had a very individualized approach and he allowed me to trek to my fitness level and we were even able to stay ahead of schedule despite it being monsoon season. He took care of all logistical aspects of the trip and I didn’t have to worry about anything. At the end of the Trek, due to monsoon weather, my flight back to Kathmandu was cancelled, but thanks to the relationships cultivated by Basu, we were able to get transportation back to Kathmandu and I was able to make my flight out of Nepal, back home, even in the face of a very tight timeline (due to my work schedule). If it hadn’t been for Basu, I would have 100% missed my flight home.
