Ghorepani Poon hill Trek offers some of the most dramatic views of the Himalayas, not snow walking!!! This exhilarating 7-days trek allows us to take in some of the most awe-inspiring landscape views of the Himalayan Mountains, going through spectacular forested areas. Ghorepani Poon hill Trek also allow allows for a number of unique cultural encounters with people who maintain their ancient traditions Altitudes of 3210m are reached, and anyone of a reasonable fitness level should be able to comfortably complete this trek.

The journey of Ghorepani Poonhill trek begins in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara, from where we will take a short bus ride to Phedi (1000m) village. The first stage of the journey, we will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the rice terraces and mountainside, and pass a number of villages inhabited by the fearless Gorkha soldiers. In Landruk/ Ghandruk, we will be able to visit the fascinating Museum of Traditional Nepalese Life. The following morning, we ascend through magnificent rhododendron forests, where the playful Langure monkeys will entertain us. Emerging from the forest, we will be able to appreciate the majestic landscape of the Annapurna range. We will be able to appreciate a magnitude of colorful orchids and admire clear views of the towering expanse of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Annapurna I (8091m). The highlight of this trek will be a visit to Poon Hill (3210m) early morning, from where we will be able to see a spectacular sunrise over the whole Himalayan range and surrounding rice terraces (a photographers paradise!). We will cross some of the most spectacular view place and rhododendron forests. We will also be able to marvel at the gargantuan stature of the fish tail shaped Mt. Machhapuchhare  (6900m), Annapurna south (7219m) and  Gangapurna (7454m). Our trek continues through the scenic village of Ulleri / Tirkhadunga to Nayapul from where, we will be transported back to Pokhara enjoying our last views of the majestic scenery.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara
Early morning at 7 am bus drive to Pokhara (823m). Explore Pokhara.  Relax and dine by tranquil Lake Phewa.

Day 02: Pokhara to Pothana
Transfer to Phedi, this is the starting point of your trek.    The trail is through a     forested valley, in parts along a ridge.   From day 1 you receive immediate views of the mountains, and they continue to improve from this point.    The evening camp is at Pothana 1500m; from this village you can see the famous Machhapuchhare (the 'fish tail' mountain) and Annapurna South

Day 03: Pothana to Landruk
A relatively easy day's walk, descending a stone stair case, then a climb through forests to a ridge.  Pass streams, fields, a village school and cross a suspension bridge.    Finally you reach the white washed stoned buildings and paved courtyards of Landruk 1630m and settle for the night.

Day 04: Landruk to Ghandruk
You will encounter the most amazing Gurung village. Explore and visit the Gurung Museum in Ghandruk Village. From this point you will have the most magnificent sunrise to Annapurna south and Hiunchuli while you having breakfast.

Day 05: Ghandruk to Tadapani
You will continue trek to Tadapani through the dense forest, while walking for 3 hours

Day 06: Tadapani to Ghorepani

Day 07: Ghorepani/Poon Hill to Tirkhadunga
Early in the morning trek to Poon hill where one may witness the sunrise for a lifetime memory. From Poon hill one can view over 30 white-capped peaks, the whole Annapurna range. Many people talk about having a life changing experience after watching the sunrise over the panorama of the Himalayas. Then, walk through the forest filled with flowers (in the spring).  After breakfast continue downhill   trek to Tirkhadunga for over night.

 Day 08: Tirkhadunga to Nayapul   to Pokhara
The trails continue through the bank of the river and reach the point (Birethanti) where, possibly lunch here. Half hour walks lead you to catch the van, and then drive to Pokhara.
