Everest View TrekkingThe journey commences in the ancient city of Kathmandu, from where we will take a short flight to the beautiful hillside village of Lukla (1350m). We continue trekking through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park, enjoying eye-catching pine forests, rhododendron flowers and an abundance of wildlife, to Namche Bazaar (3440m). Here, we will spend one day acclimatizing and enjoying the colorful and vibrant market place. The Sherpa people, whose lifestyle is uniquely different to any other indigenous populace in the world and who are renowned for their hospitality inhabit the villages in which we will be staying. The following days trekking will bring us to the village of Tengboche (3930m), home to the highest Buddhist monastery in the world (4100m), also reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its surrounding peaks. The final days of this adventure will be spent in the delightful and scenic villages of Khunde (3500m) and Monjo (3008m). Here we will have the opportunity to mingle with the outgoing Sherpa people and participate in their astonishing traditional lifestyle. We descend back to Lukla from where we will take a short flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying our last visions of the awe-inspiring Himalayan range.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding
Early morning transfer you to Tribhuvan Airport for a Twin Otter flight to STOL airfield in Lukla that takes about 35 to 40 minutes. Our trekking crew at Lukla will receive you. After final preparations, the trekking starts passing Chaurikharka village, and makes a descent towards the Dudhkosi Ghat (2,530 meters). The trail follows the precise bank of the Dudhkosi River until camp at Phakding is reached. This first day is short for acclimatization reasons. Lunch will be served in Lukla or on the way. Walking distance is approximately 4 hours. 

Day 03: Phakding   to Namche Bazzar
Follow the Bhote Koshi through forest and pasture land, along a valley dotted with small Sherpa settlements. Cross the Bhote Koshi and climb steeply along switch-backing trail to large Sherpa village, views of Everest (8848m) and Lhoste (8511m) come into sight. This prosperous town is the largest Khumbu. A traditional trading center, the Bazaar is held every Saturday. The goods on display are available. Thamserku (21886'/ 6648m) and Kwangde RI (6224m) become visible to the east and west, and the sacred mountain Khumbila (5707m) dominates the skyline to the north behind the village. Six hours.  Night stay at Namche Bazzar (3440 m)

Day 04: Namche Bazzar
Rest and acclimatization at Namche Bazaar. A pleasant day can be spent exploring the village, talking to the Sherpas and marveling at the incredible scenery. A hike to the Everest view hotel for excellent lunch with Everest view. The rest day is intended for acclimatization purpose.

 Day 05: Namche Bazzar to To Khumjung
Only a few hours walk away is the picturesque village of Khumjung (3850m), a place less visited. After having lunch visit viewpoint for a panoramic view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Taweche, Kongma Tse. Have lunch on top of this panoramic view. After lunch visit the Khumjung Monastery with the Yeti scalp and walk back through the village to your lodge. Overnight and full board. Sunsets over Himalaya can be unforgettable.

Day 06: Khumjum to Tengboche
After breakfast you will trek full to Tengboche (3870m), the cultural and religious center of the Khumbu. At the monastery we attend Buddhist ceremonies and rituals performed by local monks. Vistas from Tengboche are spectacular. The jagged peaks of Thamserku and Kangtega stand to our south as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam are visible to the north. The Monastery at Tengboche is one of the most well-known in the world as the Rinpoche is revered throughout the Buddhist community and has authored a number of books and essays. In the past our groups have had an audience with the Rinpoche and received his blessing. This is often a moving and intense experience. Views from this locale (one of the finest on earth), include Kwangde 20,293' , Tawachee 21,457', Nuptse 25,843', Lhotse 27,883', Everest 29,021', Ama Dablam 22,487', Kantega 22,235', Thamserku 21,674'.

Day 07: Tengboche to Monjo

Follow a similar trail through a forest of juniper, rhododendron and fir to Phunkitenga; you continue on to cross the Dudh Kosi for a steep descent to Trashinga. After lunch at Shanasa you make you way back to Namche Bazar. Following a steep descent passing the Bhote Kosi, crossing the river, follow the bank to Jorsale, then to Monjo for staying overnight in Monjo.

Day 08: Monjo to Lukla
After breakfast we depart Monjo and continue our descent along the Dudh Kosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by mid afternoon. We trek back to Lukla along the same trail, although it always looks different coming from the opposite direction on arrival in Lukla we will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of our trek. Trek concludes.

Day 09 Fly back to  Kathmandu early in the morning after the breakfast.
